Channel 4 are saying that the word said to shilpa was not “Paki”.
I won’t repeat the word itself since it was very vulgar, but apparently it was a 1-syllable word insult starting with the letter “c” based in a vulgar term for the primary female reproductive organ.

Ive stopped watching it now. These women r from the gutter and have truly shown their creed. Theres over 8,000 signatures on the petition and many hundreds of thousands of ppl have stopped watching CBB. Hope Shilpa can rise above it the awful torrade of abuse thats being thrown at her by these slags.

The 10,000 protest was obviously going to have an impact- it;s the largest number of complaints recieved since Jerry Springer

Carphone Warehouse said that it was reviewing its sponsorship of Big Brother and did not rule out abandoning the arrangement.
Charles Dunstone, its chief executive, told The Times: “We are talking to Channel 4. The sponsorship is constantly under review. Clearly, we are against racism.”
He said that responsibility for the content of Big Brother lay with the programme maker. “Most people understand that the person who has their name associated with the programme does not necessarily condone the content.”
IMO this is not them intentionally being racist towards Shilpa. The problems in the house infact are not one-offs due to the artificial environments nor are they isolated. This is an underlying problem that exists in british society and is reflective of what happens in school playgrounds up and down the country. This is what the average brit desi will endure during grow up. NOT because all english are bad, but because a few rotten apples who are louder, more gung-ho will prevail and run rampant over the likes of Ian(H)/Cleo and so on.
Jade and Danielle have IMO taken a disliking to Shilpa because they’re too dense to be inquisitive and would much rather sit around slagging her of than to learn about her ‘different’ ways. What they don’t realise is that the comments can be percieved as racist - but i am thinking more along the lines of plain bullies.
The funny thing though is the british media/public have often made debate about why desis dont ‘mix’. Why the hijab/niqab is a barrier for them. Shilpa Shetty is a girl more intelligent, classy, she dresses like them, she eats with them…she is doing pretty much as the english do and they STILL cant accept her. So all this malarki about how desis should do more to integrate…would it even help? judging by whats going on in the house…i dont think so.
