Sheikh Character Assasination

Re: Sheikh Character Assasination

No. **Huda-llil Mutaqeeen **The word used is Mutaqeeen, those who fear Allah, and have submitted to Him whole heartedly.

Re: Sheikh Character Assasination

now you’ve taken me out of context!.. the part you didn’t quote is where i said, “although a verse’s application is not necessarily limited to the context of revelation”

perhaps the problem is that you think abrogation amounts to ‘making mistakes’, of course it doesn’t… there’s the switching of Qiblas (2:143-144), the lightening of the burden when facing the enemy from a ratio of 1 to 10 down to 1 to 2 (8:65-66) to give but two examples

we know that Prophet Isa’s (s) law permitted for the Jews things previously forbidden to them (3:50)… so if abrogation can take place across different revelations (e.g. the Injil partially or wholly abrogating the Tawrah) then i don’t see any real problem accepting abrogation within a single scripture…

and Muhammad (saw) is God’s prophet and messenger for all times and to all people…

we aren’t talking about situations were people couldn’t find out or were unaware of the Prophet (saw)'s explanation… not bothering to find out however is an entirely different matter

the same Qur’an places Prophet Muhammad (saw) as an example to be followed and an explainer of the Qur’an… so it is erroneous to disregard his (saw) understanding and application of the Qur’an and call it “not necessary”

Sharaabi, if you want to go into details, it is actually translated by some 'scholars' as those who guard themselves against sins big and small. But it doesn't change the essence of the verse that Quran is the guidance for the masses who are inclined to submit. Not only for those who are Arab literature Shiekhs.
