Try to open the picture with a program that supports multiple file formats for images. There are tons of these programs out there. I use IPhoto Plus, but that's not a very common one. I think CorelDraw is quite easy to get.
Then save the same picture as gif-File. That should work.

I just bought a new computer so there are basically no programs on it, i am going to try to work with what i have, but if that doesn’t work unfortunatel, then i am going to i guess have to buy a program…
