Shajra-e-mal`oona

Re: Shajra-e-mal`oona

Brother DanishJu – Please read my post again. I have not expressed any opinion of mine own. Like all Muslims I hold opinions of Ibn Abbas, Masruq, Abu Malik, Al-Hasan Al-Basri and others mentioned in my post to be believed as the truth and to be followed.

They hold Shajra-e-maloona refers to Tree of Zaqqum and that sufficed for me.

Sorry, your opinions are mere sectarian inspired speculations.
This was narrated by Ibn `Abbas, Masruq, Abu Malik, Al-Hasan Al-Basri and others. Everyone who interpreted the Ayah to refer to the Night of the Isra', also interpreted it to refer to the Tree of Zaqqum.
and you said:
I hope you also consider these discussions as accadamic with the intention to find the truth only.
And that is my intention too but I follow the opinions of Scholars of repute than my own.

AOA

Bro just following statemetns of reputedscholars won't help.............. off course listen tothem and learn from them but use ur brain and heart too....................

Thus clearly do We spell out these messages unto people who think! ( Al-Quran)

13:3 And it is He who has spread the earth wide and placed on it firm mountains and running waters, and created thereon two sexes of every [kind of] plant;Asad(13,7) and it is He who] causes the night to cover the day. Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for people who think! (al_quran)

and so on................

Zerokhan

You have got things a bit wrong. If the statements are made by scholars of repute and calibre and have the name like Hz. Ibn `Abbas, Masruq, Abu Malik, Al-Hasan Al-Basri (May Allah (swt) be pleased with them all) then I follow, full stop. Because my thinking cannot and will never ever surpass their thinking.

13:3 Wahuwa allathee madda alarda wajaAAala feeha rawasiya waanharan wamin kulli alththamarati jaAAala feeha zawjayni ithnayni yughshee allayla alnnahara inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona

The ayah of Quran 13:03 that you have quoted the word ‘yatafakkaroona’ means the following

*consider, contemplate, deliberate, entertain, excogitate, meditate, mull, muse, reflect, revolve, ruminate, study, think, think out, think over, think through, turn over, weigh up, chew over, cogitate. *

See how he prominent translators have translated the word ‘yatafakkaroona’

*And He it is Who spread the earth and made in it firm mountains and rivers, and of all fruits He has made in it two kinds; He makes the night cover the day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect. [Shakir 13:3]

And it is He who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm and (flowing) rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draweth the night as a veil o'er the Day. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who consider! [Yusufali 13:3]

And He it is Who spread out the earth and placed therein firm hills and flowing streams, and of all fruits He placed therein two spouses (male and female). He covereth the night with the day. Lo! herein verily are portents for people who take thought. [Pickthal 13:3]*

And you sir, are engaged in mere speculating and not thinking. And that is very dangerous.

Speculating:

To engage in a course of reasoning often based on inconclusive evidence.
To assume to be true without conclusive evidence
To engage in the buying or selling of a commodity with an element of risk on the chance of profit.

Re: Shajra-e-mal`oona

AOA

What about Haz Abdullah bin Hudhafah bin Qays bin `Adi (ra)............. being sahabi.................... would u follow him or not...............and he was refused to be followed/obeyed even he was appoimted as a leader for rest of the sahaba with him....................
1) rest of the sahaba refused to obey him, thus Prophet (pbuh) and in turn Allah (swt)............ blindly and were wrong
2) they did not follow him but used their brain and heart and were right
3) He ordered some thing blindly and was wrong
4) he ordered some thing thoughtfully but was right
Just my brother come up with the answer to this???????????????? and u will find out the usage and importance of brain............or yataafakaroon..............

Quran gives u usool and does not go open/loud about every thing................to give u an example look at the level of taqwaa or superiority of the 3 types of muslims
1) slave ......... and does not know why but prays to Allah2) labouror ............. praying to Allah for janaa and........
3) Free........ prays to Allah coz of love and understanding of Him..........

do u consider them same..................
sahabaa meray leye Haji hay ( yanee kay kabil-e-ihteram) but alim nahee and Alim is Prophet (pbuh) only...................and now coz none of them and Prophet (pbuh) is actively here and every thng comes thru different sources thus i use quran, hadith, and brain................. does not follow blindly................
" as prophet told the non-followers of Haz Abdullah bin Hudhafah bin Qays bin `Adi that they did good not to follow him..............."

Wasalm...................

Re: Shajra-e-mal`oona

Salaams Zerokhan

I think we are going off tangent in this thread. The topic is to do with** Shajr-e-maloona**.

I have proved it with references that Shajr-e-maloona refers to Tree of Zaqqum.

The point made by the original poster is mere speculation and conjecture because he is not backing it up with any references to earlier sources to back up his claim.

I guess you are going to applaud him for using his brain. But what about asking him for source of his knowledge?

If there is no source then do you agree that all that he said was just speculation and nothing more nothing less.

You must know that in Islam there is no scope for making speculations and any claim made should refer to the Quran and the Prophet (saw). Do you agree?

Now I challenge you to prove from “quran, hadith, and (using your ) brain” that Shajr-e-maloona does not refer to Tree of Zaqqum

I am not against using one’s brain but you must know that before one uses his brain to make a statement he or she must have all the facts or must have recognised knowledge about the subject. Otherwise all the statements made are nothing but speculation.

Individually any Shahabi can make a mistake, collectively they cannot. That’s why Sunni’s follow Ijma Sahabah and not act of one individual Sahabi.

You should know when a Believer makes an unintentional mistake even though he had used all his knowledge and mental faculties to derive a solution believing it to be correct will be reward one sawab. And the one who gets it right will be rewarded tenfold.

Now try to attempt to meet my challenge: (Please don’t try to dodge it.)

PS. Honestly, I did use my brain to write up this post :D

Re: Shajra-e-mal`oona

Dear Brother AOA

I have the openion that Banni Ummaya had/has some good people but read for yourself

Banni Ummayeds
The Prophet (PBUH&HF) at the time of his death disliked three tribes: Thaqif, the Banu Hanifah and the Banu Umayyah.
Reference:
Sahih Tirmidhi,
Mishkat al-Masabih, by Khatib al-Tabrizi, English Version, Tradition

The Prophet said: "The Children of Umayad shall ascend to my pulpit. I have seen them in my dreams jumping on my pulpit like monkeys."
Then the Prophet said that the following verse was revealed about the Umayad :

"And We made that dream, which We have shown you, only as a test to the people and the cursed tree in the Quran. And We warn them but it only increases their extreme transgression!"(17:60)

references:
Sharh Ibn Abi al-Hadid, Volume 3 page 81 Printed by Mohammad Ali Subaih in Egypt
Fakhr al-Din al-Razi in his commentary of the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Volume 5 Pages 413 - 414 Second Printing by al-Matbaah al-Sarafeyah 1304

Will do for a while...............
