At home at my mums, at one pojt in time we had so many sewing machines.....as my nani, mum and me were all big sewing fans....I think at the time my nani passed away, we had around6!
We've tried all brands, like Singer, Toyota, Janome, New HOme, Brother....but at the end of the day, I think that it's what you make of it....right now at home I have a Brother and Toyota one, both are basic, but I am not as content with these as I am with the New HOme computerised version I have at my mum's....gonna go steal it!!!!
I have Pfaff....its really good. But I bought a model with way too many functions. Sometimes i feel i could do with a simpler one as i don't use it THAT much. Anyway, still its very good.
I know much more karahi then salaai. It really depends on what type of stitching you are trying to do. If all you are going to do is Basic stuff then a simple Singer will last you a long time.
As far as karahi, I learned all the freakin stiches you can imagine in Pakistan!! and then I got really interested in Islamic cross stitching and made an Eid Mubarak piece which turned out very nice :0
dont worry abt starting…coz almost all automatic and other machines have same basic functions like the thread path, reel place n others, and one most important point…if u’ve spirit to gain somthing u can also do well with the complex one machineries and stuff…like me i’ve learned some basic stitches and know i can easily understand by just seeing complex ones.and with machines…as u know all A-Z information is in it that u can handle em easily.
for purchasing might possible they will show u samples of all patterns that machine can made so it will b helpfull to u that which type of work do u want.
n also inform us that which machine u r going to buy.
Is it easy to do embroidery with a machine? I've never tried it, because the machine we have is a simple one...with only a few stitches...but is it easy? or really difficult and needs a lot of practice?
i never ever tried... i think it needs lots of struggle and practice or may be theses embroidery wali machines(usually in commercial use) r different than our machines
umm I know that this isnt the answer to your question but since the mention of sewing is here I thought that I could prehaps ask you guys for advice, tips and pattern cutting..... I am learnig to sew the normal stuff- Shalwar, Kameez and trousers, I havent got any local centres to learn from and there is an Auntie ji that teaches But I cant understand her (she speaks in a different dialect) I jus practice at home
