Umer go to the Creditanstalt branche (now Austria Bank) in Schottentor U-bahnstation, near the main uni. Tell them you want to send money to someone in Pakistan. They will make a draft(check). Pay them the money that you want to send plus some fees (its not really so much). The draft will have the amount in dollars (about Euro don’t know, the time I did this there was no Euro). Take the draft / cheaque and send/mail it to the person in Pakistan. That person can get the money cashed in any bank in Pakistan. This whole process works over a bank New York, its safe and quick. (You can send the draft to Pakistan via EMS).
If you do a normal Foreign ‘Überweisung’ from a bank here in Vienna, it will take a long time and the fees is much expensive.
I tried to wire money to Pakistan Habib bank and routing no was wrong.....now my bank here in USA... tries to contact Habib bank for returning of money but there is no reply..........its been one month.............any suggestions?
