I have flirted only with one guy, queer. And that's because I thought he was gay. I feel so embarrassed.

It's a bit difficult to describe, but maybe the best way to explain myself is to say that I don't consider it to be flirting as such - the intent is verbal sparring or banter - and the banter is reciprocated.

And the one thing I'm very careful about is who I engage in the verbal sparring with. I try to make sure it's someone who knows I don't have any ulterior motives or someone I can actually say outright to if I find the direction of the conversation to be veering into uncomfortable territory - that I'm not comfortable with the exchange.

The thing is, the verbal sparring isn't limited to guys - if I find a girl/guppan who I can't banter with (sharpen my dialogue skills with) - then I'll do the same with her - exchange words and conversation - I'm an equal opportunity banterer :D

how do you qualify that? is it based on your closeness with the person (online friendship) or based on the intelligence/maturity of that person

LOL! It isn't an exact science. You use your judgement about the other person's intelligence and maturity and go from there. It's possible to make mistakes - but hey, you live and learn and move on.

Let me share you my opinion on flirtatious behavior. It can annoy and may effect negatively if the person you are having such conversation is not on same page of understanding as you are at the moment.
If you two are best friend and your relation understand the limits and jokes then you are self judge to take it to level where you both can feel comfortableness rather than awkwardness.

So far I don't think I have flirted with anyone on GS ...maybe witty banters but that's about it! How boring :p
