A lot of good suggestions in this thread. Try this experiment. Every night, write down 3 things that you did that day that makes you like yourself. Even if you don’t think those things are big, if they made any sort of a positive improvement in your or anyone’s life, you did an amazing thing. For feeling ugly, write about one aspect of your body you like. There has to be a few. Then increase that number to 3, by the end of the first week and continue. Try finding reasons for why more parts of your body are pretty/healthy/better functioning etc. (Aside: We should be VERY grateful for our bodies. Without it, we wouldn’t exist.) Also, push yourself to do things you can not do. One thing at a time. You will feel AMAZING about yourself. Some things just require you to continue pushing yourself. Some other stuff requires you to gain skills in order to be able to do it. Thirdly, remember that you’re worthy of love and respect. It doesn’t matter if you agree or not. You can’t trust your judgement on that anyway, given how pessimistically you’re thinking of yourself right now. So, don’t. Trust the judgement of the rest of the world that you’re worthy of YOUR love towards YOU. Remind yourself of that when you pray, before bed and after waking up. You’ll notice changes in TWO weeks. I promise! Do these exercises even if they feel fake. Like I said, you can’t trust your judgment of yourself right now (and by that I mean ONLY right now). Self esteem doesn’t always come on its own, but it DOES come. You need a bit of work for it, which is NOT impossible.
