Re: Securing MsAccess DB on WebServer
O, you cant find the link…he he he…here it is…
but still there are many who do it also, even you can find one free hosting wid asp.net, I have a collection of such servers in my bookmarks. there is a good one is…www.somee.com
about PHP, yes you are right …it is a cheeper hosting , also mysql support, we can find eazily, also while we are talking about linux hosting. it is considered to be a strong & secure webserver comparing to IIS.
Re: Securing MsAccess DB on WebServer
When it comes to prices, no one can beat 1and1 (www.1and1.com). There might be other cheaper one but then space may be an issue.
Re: Securing MsAccess DB on WebServer
O, yes, you are right..........1&1 are most cheepest & they have plenty of services too
Re: Securing MsAccess DB on WebServer
The bottom line is; ANYTHING outside of a DMZ is vunerable, no matter how powerfull; Oracle, SQL, DB2, nothing is secure on the outside perimeter. You should ask your hosting company, what security topologies do they offer.
The bottom line is; how important is the data that you have in ACCESS. Is it mission critical? Can your competetion steal the data and harm you?
Depending on the answer, you will select level of security that is best for you. From simple password to a fully encrypted Access database to hiding things behind firewalls.
Re: Securing MsAccess DB on WebServer
ok, now I am going to use an encryption function. md5....
what do you think about its security...I have just seen it on wikipedia...even people are not satisfy about this...thanks
