Scenes of Childhood......

Re: Scenes of Childhood…

This is supposed to be a joke. But I am not laughing. Not just in our countries but almost in the entire so called ‘third world’ bracket, this is the case. Very less is being done for the child welfare and education. It is all about political and personal agendas. And yet we hope for a bright future for our nations! Maybe the future would really be bright being well educated. I am sure Neil Armstrong’s geography teacher showed him the stars and the moon only on a blackboard. But the point is he went to school to reach the moon someday. Well most of us live in cities and we don’t know what’s happening to the masses in the deep interiors of our own countries and even if we know we turn a blind eye. What else can any of us do? I think literacy is the key to a brighter tomorrow. Maybe that’s the new name of revolution. Surprisingly, recently I heard this in a Hindi movie ‘ revolution doesn’t have an era…, it can happen anywhere, anytime…..’. Maybe with a well educated, rational and thinking system a lot of battles could be won without a shot being fired. Better literacy would also help eradicate poverty or atleast reduce it. Our countries wouldn’t be bullied around anymore. It isn’t about politics or supremacy or power, it is about self respect and dignity. I would rather that** together** these two rockets be pointed in the direction of whoever had the cheek to tell us to shut-up and get lost.
