If you dun’t mind, you did this project for what?
Re: Scenes of Childhood......
I did it for the United Nations years ago. Then there were a lot of other NGO's who got involved, Red Cross and the CRY Foundation too. There are so many poor and needy people/children not just in India but all across 'The Third World Continent' as they call it. It took me almost two years to complete it but am still not satisfied. I travelled very far, deep inside the country and in cities. I met children with silver spoons and children hungry since days. A four year old elegantly reciting poems and kids cleaning garbage and trucks. There is so much the world around is oblivious of, so much to see, to understand, to act upon. Child labour, then there are war ravaged children, orphans, cancer/aids patients and much more. I could go on writing but maybe I will let the pictures do the talking. A lot of these images were auctioned all across the globe, we raised a lot of funds for the efforts towards children. I have more than two thousand images, won awards for some of them. The biggest clichè of it all was when someone someone wanted give me an award for a photograph that I took of a dying child!
Well the idea was to spread awareness. There is someone somewhere who needs our help. Someone wants to study, someone is bonded, someone is terminally sick - Oh I could again go on Lippy......
