SC strikes down PM’s order promoting 54 bureaucrats

Agreed.

So some people here think that just because he is PM, Gilani can do as he pleases!! shaabaash

The CJ is perhaps exceeding his domain here but I still think that this is a step in the right direction. There is no place for such gross injustices or *sifaarishi *appointments in a modern society.

Some of these bureaucrats have worked their a*s off to get to this position ((i.e. grade 21, CSS Exams and what not. compare that with our generally naalaiq politicians, most of whom have a simple graduation (even not that in some cases - Dasti) from very ordinary institutions)) and if these bureaucrats are then overlooked for maximam promotion (Federal Secretary or grade 22) later because some ahole is a chacha, mama or phooparr of a nikama politician then they have every right to go and lodge a complaint with the apex court. Where-else should these civil servants go & seek justice?

We all saw how Gilani abused his privileged position by unceremoniously firing Federal Interior Secretary (following the Supreme Court’s verdict on NRO) for merely doing his job i.e. stopping that incompetent of a federal minister Ch. Mukhtar from going to China (because his name had been put on exit control list by NAB)

There was no media outcry then so why suddenly all this furore now?
