I made a promise to quit playing Chess and to quit playing Cards.

Cards are often played for money and thus it's haram so when i found out i quit besides it was a dangerous game to play and being good got you nothing but hate becuase you'd be always suspected of cheating.

As for Chess it's something which is based on conflict whilst i am a person who is always prepared for conflict, i made a vow never to provoke it or gloryfy it in any way Chess promotes conflict thus i shall abstain.

I do like throwing stones though.
