Sarees - one of my fav wear

I like bengali sarees. They are so simple, nice and crisp to wear if you take care of them properly. I think they would go well with Eid if you chose the right one.

Also, in India in the state of Maharashtra (the one that has Bombay) I saw a type called “Paithani”. These are some of the most exquisite sarees I have seen in my life. They cost a bomb but they are eye-popping. I was told that British Airways had borrowed some of the paithani designs for the tail fins of their jets. If any of you get a chance to buy one DON’T MISS IT. They make a bride stand out in a crowd.

Let me see if I can find a good picture. Meanwhile, here are some info links.

Okay, here is a page with some photos. They do not truely show a paithani in its splendor but this will have to do for the time being. You can click on the photos to see bigger ones.

Note the designs - not the designs on the main body of the saree but the end of it…what is called “pallu”.
