Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
Rashid Latif joins the chorus.
On GEO he was saying that match fixing cannot be eradicated from cricket and some ex-players like Sunil Gavasker who are involved in making by-laws in ICC are involved in promoting bookies also.
Take that.
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
this isn’t the time to make such allegations and besides I don’t want to even entertain any such thought that the current crop of Pakistani players are just maintaing this facade of piety while indulging in the same business of fixing matches. tsk
But could it be that some very powerful forces are at work in the background…some type of mafia calling all the shots.
Waisay, this is once in a life time chance and since everyone’s been offered a space to speak his mind on the issue, tou dil jalay tow bolain gay. However, there are some serious analysts who have shown remarkable restraint and responsibility on an issue that has rocked PCB. Miandad is one of them and who’s that guy, Mushtaq Mohammed’s son who used to be one of our openers in the 90’s. Sikander Bakht is jazbaati but then he know where to draw the line.
On another note, I don’t even like PJ Mir either. One can’t judge someone by merely looking at the screen but his own body language, it was noticed wan’t line with the atmospherics of that time, i.e., around Woolmer’s death.
What I like about this saga is that chalow Pakistan main bhi asteefay dainay ka rujhan shuru hua. ![]()

Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
He needs to be 8itch-slapped in public!!
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
Does Sarfraz know what people think of him and his comments?
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
yes…lets do it…
:slap:
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
apparently South Africa has re-opened the Airplane crash which killed Cronje...
they think that the same people who allegedly killed Woolmer also tampered with plane which killed Cronje
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
^ Is that because Woolmer's new book was a threat to them and would have been a reveal all story?
Nice speculation.
If it is true, I would fail to see anyone lower than top people in ICC involved in it. Becuase I don't think 2 time Bookies can get that done.
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
Well i can't ignore one comment...
Former PCB Chairman Tauqeer Zia says : It was a wrong decison by PCB to give responsibilty for such a big event to an incompetent player like Inzamam-ul-Haq.
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
Hahahaha thats so funny
- whose bedi though?![]()
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
Most jazbaati pakistani like to stay in denial. SN predicted Pakistan may lose early matches due to betting way before team left pakistan for wc.
I think facts will come out soon!
Re: Sarfraz alleges betting !
Iam afraid Sarfaraz Nawaz may be right. This will be a double whappy (1) Pak players implicated in betting and (2) Sarafarz Nawaz becoming a national hero. Both are most undesirable effects.

Did Tauqir forget how shamefully Pakistan performed under his appointed captain (Waqar Younis) in 2003? I would still say Inzi was the best choice as captain in the circumstances. Atleast this team was solidly behind him. The defeat to Ireland was a one-off and such things do happen in sport. The answer to this dilemma is not in politicising the whole issue but in preparing better pitches (green tops with bounce and pitches that help seam movement) at 50% of the grounds in Pakistan and revamping our domestic infrastructure and the PCB adhoc set-up.

How many times do we have to say this? Most of the ppl here as well as in Pakistan know this. But will our leaders listen?
