Re: Sarai No More

Yes unique part is, she has data of all of his paternal ancestors, since Maharishi Kashyap, after whom the holy land was named Kashmir
And she believes Kashmir is her Baap ki Jaagir

Re: Sarai No More

^ interesting. :)

Re: Sarai No More

^^ But this can be propaganda of the pundas, no one can verify there generation tree :)

Re: Sarai No More

^ I dont know about pundas or their generation trees :) it seems to be quite improbable though to keep it intact especially as the time span is thousands of years. How many generations are mentioned in that tree?

Re: Sarai No More

Actually the most important part of their life is gotra, it determines the linage, hers is Kashyap, and two people of same gotra cannot marry as they turn out to be brother and sister.

It mentions 92 names, and also nearly 250 years ago, her ancestors took this surname :)

Re: Sarai No More

^ These 92 names are vertical or have they got names horizontally as well?

Re: Sarai No More

vertically, horizantally i can't count :D

Re: Sarai No More

^ ok it could be right then, we also have our family tree from the Prophet SAW), I fall in the late 20's (vertically) and its already over 1500 years ago.

Re: Sarai No More

But I don't have mine, I know my gotra, but I don't know from when and where my ancestors originated :)

Re: Sarai No More

^ same in Pakistan, only Syeds have kept their family tree. The others keep on doing researches on their origins. :)
