these pics reminded me of a sand storm in dubai a few years ago , I was driving to work and was on Emirates Road ... most of the Dubai'ites might know it had desert on both sides ...

and suddenly the storm caught force and the visibility was zero , nothing in sight.. the wind had lots of pressure and the speed with which the sand was coming on to the road and covering it up in layers was frightening ..

that day i was sincerely praying to Allah , that please dont let this be an azaab ... I realized if Allah wanted it could take no more then 10 seconds for everyone to be burried under all that sand ... it was so frightening , the color of the skies , the sound of the wind , breathing issues ...

God help us all ... I miss dubai ...

How do people breath if they are caught in the storm? The sand will be hard to escape from. Do people die in these sand storms?

I was coming back to my office from a meeting nearby, and I saw the Sand Storm coming our way from North, in the few moments, I made my cell phone ready, the Kingdom Center, one of Riyadh’s land mark disappeared. I knew this is going to be huge. and I have never seen such a sand storm in KSA before. This storm was more significant because it caused Riyadh and Dammam airports closure as well.
