Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

This Swype:

Swype | Type Fast, Swype Faster

And no, its not automatically installed on all Android phones. You have to separately apply for it and side-install it.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Thanks Tofi. Somehow I knew I wasn't THAT behind :D!

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Btw, I got a quote for the trade-in of an iPhone 4S 16GB in excellent condition. $215.

Not bad but can get way better on Craigs List. Just wanted to add that info to this thread as we were discussing the trade-in option earlier.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

I just came to say "Boo!" cuz I don't have SS Galaxy S3.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Boo back at ya :D

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Teggy, don't say boo, say boo-hoo :p

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

^^ :omg:

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Tofi,
is it worth it to install and use this over the stock swipe keyboard/predictive-text engine that’s on the S3? I like the deafault one, but would try what you recommended if its really a notch above.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

I have my hands on Galaxy s3. yay me!

Initial impressions: Sleek and vivid design and graphics. First android experience so extremely fascinated with the customization capabilities. I agree with someone who said that typing can be difficult. Still exploring it though and may be will change my mind.

However, can anyone tell me whether I Will be able to change CSC code If i root it?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

yes, keyboard has been huge turn of for me, to a point of where i am thinking of going back, cause 75% of my phone usage is with keyboard its been bothering me a lot unless i don't find a better keyboard ill be going back within this week. oh android why could't you built a better keyboard

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Oh that sucks for you guys! I guess I am used to the Android keyboard and never used the iphone one.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

yeah it's huge deal breaker for me ive been use it for a week now still can't get use to it. its not smooth at all

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Usman, I had a bit of a problem with the keyboard too but hang in there. Once you get used to it, you'll like it better than the iPhones's. Try the built in swipe feature also. It's much easier than I had imagined.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Okay I will come across as silly but how exactly does the swipe feature work? I turned it on from keyboard settings but its the same as normal.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

^^ You need to slide your fingers on the letters to make a word without lifting. There's a tutorial on youtube as well.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

it'sjust change man... not all that different in my opinion though - I came from using an iPhone for three years too. Just give it a little time. Also try the swipe keyboard as Niksik suggested. It's improved my efficiency considerably... just took me five or six text messages to get used to it.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Oh I youtubed it and got it thanks! I wasn’t selecting the correct option. :hehe: I will give it a try and see how I like it. Although I never had a problem with tapping and typing thus far.

PS. Yea agree with LC, just gave swype a try. Looks neat!

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

LC, I used the built in swipe feature which is great, but have been using the Swype beta download (as recommended by Tofi above) since the past few days. Try that out. It's a bit more efficient.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

Okay I take it back. I don't like it. I need more practice I think. :(

Re: Samsung Galaxy S III Club @ GS

It takes a little getting used to. Don't give up just yet. It makes entering text real fast.

Anyway, it's just an optional feature. Regular typing is great as well.
