Sami the enigmatic (MERGED)

Re: Sami the enigmatic

kis kay lyay, for Pakistan or for the opposing team:confused:

Re: Sami the enigmatic

Imran said this about Sami, Imran said that about Taufeeq Umar, flana purana champion said this about him that about him.... for God's sake they are old and out of the ground, even when they were in ground they had many players who they thought were potentials but failed but we only look at the examples that outshine the rest i.e. Wasim Akram, Inzamamul Haq etc.

They have been greats, their opinion does have a value but that doesn't mean they'll be right 100% of the time, they can (and have been) wrong too.

I'm sure Sami can take 5 wickets in an innings, he has "potential", but so does Imran Nazir, Taufeeq Umar, Imran Farhat, Misbahul Haq, Faisal Iqbal, M Khalil, Junaid Zia etc, so why stick with one bowler who has been failing for so long, why not let other "potentials" show what they got.

Bari thinks Sami has not been given a proper chance to prove himself

Full Article:

On the recommendation of the National Selection Committee, Pakistan have named an unchanged 15-man squad for the second Test against India starting at Faisalabad on Saturday.
“We see no logic in making any change because everyone needs a proper chance to prove himself,” Wasim Bari, chief selector, told AFP on Monday. Bari also brushed aside criticism that Mohammad Sami, who conceded 67 runs in 12 unsuccessful overs in India’s first innings, was not performing to expectations. “It is correct Sami has not been doing well of late but he deserves another chance because we have confidence in him.”
The first Test at the Gaddafi Stadium at Lahore is heading towards a draw after India, replying to Pakistan’s 679 for 7, were 403 without loss at stumps on the fourth day.

So “everyone” needs a proper chance to prove himself? Even after playing international cricket for 6 years and never doing anything worthwhile, Bari still thinks Sami needs a “proper” chance? What about guys like Mohammad Asif and Umer Gul? What have they done to piss this guy off?

Re: Bari thinks Sami has not been given a proper chance to prove himself

:rotfl:

And some1 thinks Agarkar got so much chance.

Re: Sami the enigmatic (MERGED)

Christ, I wrote a response just before the merger happened, and now the damn keyboard is being hammered all over again.

I say, put enough confidence in him until the end of the test series, take him out of the squad for the ODI series, and include the likes of Asif and Gul, untap their potential, and see what the outcome is. I am almost positive it will not be worse than what is already expected out of "Imran's behnoi" Sami.

Oh, and, I am sure these "youngsters" (mentioned above) have the ability to knock the stumps of top-order batters on any given day of the week (Stumps outta the park, as Waqar would have put it), unlike Sami, who have this uncanny ability to demonstrate his real reverse-swinging skills against the tail-enders, meanwhile cementing his place in the team for a period of next several decades.

Re: Bari thinks Sami has not been given a proper chance to prove himself

At the end of the day Agarkar does get atleast tailenders out. Our Sami is a totally different class.

Re: Bari thinks Sami has not been given a proper chance to prove himself

I guess he is passing the favor he got from his wife i.e. keep giving him chances, though I’m not sure how much confidence she has in him

He is a pack of lies, guys like Imran Farhat, M Hafeez get an extended run for a “chance”, while M Sami gets a super-extended run for a “chance”. People like Misbahul Haq, Hasan Raza, Bazid Khan, Junaid Zia, Yasir Arafat, M Asif have stolen Wasim Bari’s murgee hence they can’t be given a “proper” chance.

Re: Sami the enigmatic (MERGED)

 Damnit, as a free nation, I say we ban all “Murghee-chors” from playing international cricket. :frusty2::aj:

More Murghees → More Andays → More ‘tugray aur ghubroo jawan’ :D/ :smokin:
