Re: Same Sex Relationships In SA Schools
A lot of the time journalists like to exaggerate and over sensationalise one or two cases for attention...
Hugging, kissing and sibling-love for the same gender is acceptable non-sexual behaviour in Muslim socities.. Paki girls in my class hugged, kissed and cried for each other when we finished last year at high school (yr 11), does that make them lesbians?
When we meet other Muslim boys we know at 'Eid we hug each other and if it's someone close like cousin, brother or bestfriend we even kiss each other on the cheek or peck on the neck.. Does that make us gay? No, not even bisexual guys are sick enough to have sexual thoughts about their friends because they are like your brothers.
It's true that in Islam culture homoerotic feelings are not classed as abnormal or unnatural and our Muslim society doesn't put demeaning labels like gay and lesbian on people just because of their feelings but acting upon those feelings is forbidden and those that have them are told to control them and it's very much possible for people to supress those evil thoughts and have platonic feelings and relationship with other guys, trust me I know.
