This topic was brought up in a discussion on a radio talk show a few days ago. Some of the people trafficked have no knowledge of what will become their fate until they arrive at their destinations. A man interviewed explained how the parents sometimes reach out to him, and either knowingly or ignoring the hard facts about his "business" offer to send their daughter/son with him in exchange for an amount of money. Sacrifice of one family members for the sake of the family, if you will.
Other cases are of kidnapping that then leads to trafficking. There is no happy ending in either case.
It's a sad reality. And this is a business that is spread far and wide across the globe.
I dont know how parents sleep at night knowing their child is being violated like that? What kind of parents are these and are they hoping to survive and prosper off the money they get for their kids?
Why do I see this topic in so many movies? You know kidnapping women from South Asia and Europe and selling them to Arab Shiekhs. Is there some reality to it or is it just a myth to add some twist in the movies or to give bad name to Arab snobs?
I recently watched "Taken", a brilliant movie, it's a story about the struggle of a father who wants to save his daughter from the Albanian kidnappers who want to sell her to Arab Sheikhs.
get your facts straight. arab sheikh's manager was not interested in buying that girl...it was her father who forced him to buy her for him. sheesh...talk about BSing...
as for the whole issue of human trafficking...its all about supply and demand. do you really think arabs will be able to buy any girls if there were no agents selling them? sure arabs pay the most but only bcos they are available in the first place. and who kidnapp these girls in the first place? aliens ? they come from all over the world...so they get kidnapped by their own ppl...and are then sold all over the world for profits...these ppl should first stop kidnapping these girls...also...the girls they don't want to sell they force them into prostitution...like they did in the movie...who was having fun with them in those trucks and cabins? arab sheikhs or their own ppl? arabs or no arabs...this business of human traffacking will never stop. period.
There are real life examples too. Years aga a Hyderabadi(India) girl was rescued after being sold to a person who was actually 6-7 times the age of the girl. There was a huge hue and cry about it. There are various places where these idiots come to buy girls. It is such a shame that the people who claim to live by Islam do these kind of lunatic acts.
well the typical behavior of Arabs in Pakistan/India in some way parallels that of Japanese and Westerners in Thailand, with the notable difference that the Desi case involves marriage, an emphasis on virginity, and local authorities seemingly pleased with providing their minor girls for sex tourism.
and are talking about that Farheen Sultana and Hina Sultana case , girls aged between thirteen and fifteen, sold for twenty thousand rupees ?
^Agree with Aliyish, what about all those western sicko males who go to Thailand for gay pedophilia and elderly western women who go to Africa to hunt young boyz

At least they're not hypocrites like Arab sheikhs.

I agree, true its supply and demand, and it has to be tackled at both ends, makign it difficult to supply and try to decrease demand by being more vigilant at all fronts.
and indeed if the local populations (citizens or immigrants) were not involved in it ppl from faraway lands would have limited capability to gain much from other countries.
its like when we look at american slavery and how bad it was, how it erased the background and heritage of people..may muslim, yet it was their own people who sold them, so the blame goes to both parties.
similarly in this cae we cant just blame the destination nations for not stopping it and being unable to block such movement of expolited people to their borders, but also the source nations for not stopping it in their borders.

The suppliers are countries where law is a joke and police is busy twirling their mustache. Not the mention the extreme poverty, desperation and lack of necessities. The destination are countries where the mere sight of a police car's lights makes people start praying to God. Not to mention the small population, absolute control over everything by the government and plenty of everything.
Both are to blame, but don't you think the destination countries can do more?
