Saddam's Lawyers appeared on TV (Defence Lawyers from the Human Rights Watch) saying the whole prceedings against him were a Black political Drama staged by USA, directed by USA and acted by US puppet judges....

May ALLAH swt forgive saddam hussain for his sins and insure he enters Janat, Ameen. Although i disagree with some of the things he did, i believe if they are going to hang him, then hang the people who had deliberately sold him weapons, and told him of the whereabouts of certain people. Donald rumsfeld and other people deserve to have thier throats cut. Saddam hussain didnt get a fair trial, and most of the things he wanted to say were kept hidden. He wanted the world to know what really happened, e.g. the meetings he had with the americans etc but they are happy to quickly silence him...

CW^ You know Saddam's last plea appeal was that he is captured under the Occupation forces of America & is a POW.... and under the Geneva Convention you can't hang POW's....But you know there is Sole Super Power in the world now a days..Saddam dearly miscalculated that ...First he didn't let Americans rule his country according to their wishes & didn't allow the inspectors to let in , in 2002....Later he thought that they would forgive his life ,a fool dictator.

Yes but didnt saddam hussein allow inspectors into iraq? They did go there, and believe me, if there really were weapons of mass destruction america would not have invaded! not only that, he destroyed many al samoud missiles before they arrived.

he is hanged for killing 148 ****es but now daily there are 100 of people killed by car bombs and etc, who are responsible for this, then bush need to be hanged everyday for creating a situation like this

CW^ Believe me, It was only an excuse asking for inspectors to let in,the real reason was letting them in while holding US fingers and thus letting US rule Iraq and it's oil according to their wishes..In other words making Saddam & Baath Party a puppet just like the Old Shah of Iran especially since after Iran Iraq war did not bring favorable results..

yeah very sad to hear that he has been executed on Eid day but in a way he brought it upon himself. har zaalim ka yehi anjaam hota hai but it's good that he got his punishment in this world and Allah swt will hopefully forgive his sins and grant him a place in heaven - Amen
I thought he had already suffered enough having lost two sons (no angels themselves btw) and grandson during the invasion of Iraq.

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been executed by hanging at an unspecified location in Baghdad, for crimes against humanity.** Iraqi TV said the execution took place just before 0600 local time (0300GMT).
The news was confirmed to the BBC by the Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister, Labeed Abawi.
Two co-defendants, Saddam Hussein’s half-brother Barzan al-Tikriti and former Iraqi chief judge Awad Hamed al-Bandar, were also executed.
Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the 1982 killings of 148 Shias in the town of Dujail.
“Criminal Saddam was hanged to death,” state-run Iraqiya television announced, as patriotic music and images of national monuments were broadcast.
A scrolling headline read: “Saddam’s execution marks the end of a dark period of Iraq’s history.”
The TV station said Saddam Hussein’s half-brother and the former chief justice of the Revolutionary Court were also hanged.
Other Arab TV stations aired live footage of the sunrise over Baghdad’s Firdous Square, where US Marines pulled down a statue of Saddam Hussein, after he was deposed in April 2003.
‘Turning a page’
US troops and Iraqi security forces are on high alert for any violent backlash. The US State Department has urged all its embassies to increase security.
The BBC’s Peter Greste in Baghdad says Shias have generally welcomed Saddam Hussein’s passing and hailed the execution as justice for the suffering endured under his leadership.
But Saddam’s own Sunni tribesman were angered by his treatment in the past and they may well protest once more, our correspondent adds.
The BBC’s Adam Brookes in Washington says the Bush administration will see the act as turning a page in Iraq - a demonstration that Iraq has a sovereign and democratic government.
A US statement is expected. However, the Bush administration will be keen to portray the execution as a matter purely for the Iraqi government and its court system, our correspondent says.
