Woe to him that accepts bounty from another's table
And lets his neck be bent with benefits!
He hath consumed himself with the lightning of the favours bestowed on him,
He hath sold his honour for a paltry coin,
Happy the man who thirsting in the sun
Does not crave of Khidhr a cup of water! (1)
His brow is not moist with the shame of beggary;
He is a man still, not a piece of clay…

`Auf bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, and those who supplicate Allah in your favour and you supplicate Allah in their favour. The worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you; and whom you curse and who curse you.'' It was asked (by those who were present): "Should not we oppose them?'' He said, "No, as long as they establish Salat; as long as they establish Salat in your midst.'' [Sahih Muslim].

I really doubt that there is any Muslim leader around who genuinely ‘works’ for the benefit of his people, but they all are more concerned in prolonging their stay in power and carry out ‘their master’s’ agenda.

No doubting anyone in particular, I wonder if any Muslim leader really prays 5 times a day to please the Lord of the Black House (Holy Kaaba). They surely must be hearing the Adhan five times a day proclaiming the greatness of Allah (swt).

Is anyone of them putting any sincere effort in establishing Salat (that means laws laid down by Allah (swt) – Shariyah), I wonder?

I also wonder if these so-called leaders really believe that they are loved by their people or do they believe their sycophants and results of their rigged up polls. (Husni Mubarak always gets 99% of the vote, of course standing unopposed.)
