Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

my husbands cousin is a big ritu kumar fan, and all her saris, inc her bridal lehenga were ritu kumar. some of them were kinda nice but the other ones, i really really didnt care for them.

Did they buy the outfits from anywhere in Karachi or online from India?

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

indian designs and bridals are SO different than the pakistani designers, and what most pakistani brides would want to wear but they are beautiful nevertheless (except for some OTT designs and blend of 10 colors in one outfit). the indian sarees and anarkalis however are absolutely unmatchable.

i totally agree - the word on the street is that anarkali's are about to go out of style. wonder how long it'll take to completely be considered "outdated!"

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

^ I heard the same thing last year and didn't bother making one but I keep seeing them. It's transformed into more of a A-line shirt now...lots of chooridaar sleeves too. Might actually get one now.

isnt the exchange rate for rupees more in pakistan than in india? thats why everything seems cheap in india, but really its all the same. two years ago the exchange rate was 40 rs./1 dollar in india and about 80 rs./1 dollar. when i went shopping in india, everything was damn expensive. a designer outfit i wanted cost 1 lakh was coming out to $2500 dollars.

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

i fell in love with sabyasachi even before i knew i was looking at him! and everywhere i go now, every forum, is full of sabyasachi … it’s fate  ahahahaha

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

hi guppis........
i think we should n't promote indian designersssss.....
plz don't mind this but this forum should be purely pakistani and promoting paki goods only, infact we should n't be inspird by indians
Love this forum

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

¨^again the India debate....what's wrong with praising something beautiful? Indians and Pakistanis are desis, they share alot of things i.e. clothes being one of them. Should we really be so narrowminded that we look at who is Indian or who is Pakistani? If something is worth praise, it should be praised - regardless of its country of origin.

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

then y we r celebrating our seperation from india today?????
i went to many stores in SAUDIA and many gulf states,,,,,Indians never buy paki goods...even on cash counters if they see a tag of MADE IN PAKISTAN....they return tht .....
OUR CULTURE,CLOTHS,WEDDING,LIFESTYLE,RELIGION,AND EVERYTHING IS FARRRR DIFFERENT.

Re: sabyasachi/manish malhotra

^ am sorry to say this mehrunisa, but i have seen pakis do the same...there are many pakistanis who dont buy pakistani goods..
though I do think thats what makes us different from Indians at the same time..we dont discriminate...to that extent...we go to indian grocery stores, watch their movies et cetera et cetera..
*India has supported numerous Pakistani starving artists and musicians, the ones who were forgotten, unappreciated, and underpaid in their own country.
Spreading hate, and discrimination is not Pakistani style.

Our primary independence was from the British, then India. Yet we buy British goods, watch their films, speak their language, and follow their fashion.

All of that should be the END of this Indian-Pakistani debate in this thread.
Mehrunisa, Im half Paki, half Indian, and I personally know a few Indians on this forum who will not appreciate what you're saying here. So I suggest you either take this to the political forum or not talk about it at all.

This thread is about the Indian designers, we can all go back to discussing that now.
