Soni27,
I'm flattered that my politically correct sermons were able to provide some form of amusement in your bleak puritanical world. :P
Re: ruining our kidz..
in fact RV's comments were just plain common sense ... not political.... with some good islamic guidance thrown in... the funny thing was your naivete and lack of good sense, moral backbone, and unsavoury attitude, when putting forward what are obviously xenophobic comments ... what a bleak soulless place your humour must inhabit....

The parents are responsible - full stop. So many desi parents turn a blind eye to the actions of their little acha bachas and then wonder why on earth he has a girlfriend/smokes/drinks/etc. Must be those negative outside influences. If the parents had put any effort into being involved in their child's life from the beginning this would not have been a problem.
Re: ruining our kidz..
BY the time you have kids... the influences on your children will be different to what there are today. The social environment changes.
Every decade, there are different influences. Fashions change.
Re: ruining our kidz..
I quite agree that this all comes down to the home environment. When you have little ones, the parents are responsible for teaching them right from the start to discern right from wrong. when you dont follow through or when you waffle and dont adhere to a regular policy, your child becomes weak and easily influenced by others. Thats a really dangerous thing. Parents who are consistent and insistent upon good behavior can raise good kids even in the worst of areas and the kids will be strong enough not to follow the leader-of-the-day. It has absolutely squat to do with nationality or cultural background, this transcends all barriers.
Thats so much more easily said than done I know. Parents can err, aor give in "just this once"...and we learn from our mistakes....because when you givve a kid an inch, they tend to take a mile (or 10) Be consistent in your teachings and they'll turn out fine. Be too stong or too weak and you'll find yourself grieving.
