England proved me wrong by dominating in the forwards putting South Africa on the back foot so that they never could start running against England. Great comeback from the 36-0 loss earlier.
At least no-one in his right mind will call the Springboks "chokers" :)
The best what I will take away from this World Cup and especially the final, is the way all South Africans from all race groups put their combined support behind the Springboks. After the previous World Cup win in 95 there were the issue of professionalism, Sanzar, Three-Nations, Super 12, etc. which prevented the rugby bosses to take advantage of the goodwill among the black citizens. I hope they take advantage now and get rugby introduced into more township schools. There must be 100's of youngsters, who normally would choose soccer, who might now be interested in following some heroes into rugby.
Bryan Habana, Os du Randt, Victor Matfield and Juan Smith played their hearts out. Enjoy your retirement Os....you have given us many good moments in your career.

Congrats to SA, on the day they were just a better team in all dept's. Matfield was rightly awarded the man of the match, winning the ball everytime in the lineouts. England were just no match for the SA defence who despite not being able to get their backs in the game, never seemed troubled. England as a whole did not have what it took to get behind SA awesome defence. A sad way for many on England's players, who for which this was their final game for England at an International level, but they can be proud of their efforts as a team how far they came in this World Cup considering how poor they started.
I hope the powers that be continue with Ashton and let him build towards a youthful and entertaining England side in years to come, caz one they lacked in this World Cup was their inability to score tries and hopefully this is something the men behind the scenes address.
From a neutral point of view i hope Argentina are given the chance to compete in the Tri Nations as for their performances in this World Cup they deserve to be given that oppurtunity.

Even from a non-neutral point I agree with you. Unfortunately Sanzar, the ruling body in the Three Nations, only meet every 5 years (I think) to reconsider the set-up and the next change will only be in 3 years time.
One problem with Argentinia playing in the Three Nations is that they might be thumped each time they play. All their professionals are playing in Europe and the clubs might not be willing to give them off. Maybe Argentinia should take the initiative and form a third group of nations playing together grouping them, Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa in a leaque for starters. As they build up their local players they later might get into the Three Nations.
Your suggestion that Ashton should continue to coach I disagree with. Rumour is that Jake White is considering applying for the job and I believe he is better than Ashton. If Jake gets the job, England might get a more expansive and better playing plan than the up-and-under type they presently play.
South Africa has their problems and will not do well in the next World Cup. I expect that quotas will be forced down on the rugby administrators and many of the present team might not be picked again due to this quotas. Already the politician in charge of the Sport portfolio in parlement, Khompele, stated last week that Jake White will not be allowed to continue as coach as he is considered a racist for not picking more non-whites. The same person also threatened before the World Cup to refuse the Springboks passports to play in this years World Cup! :(
