It must be upsetting having to go to the bother of finding another acceptable flatmate (lots of strange people out there)
It sounds thats the the lady in question isnt really independent enough to look after her own affairs and would much rather the lady who is leaving do it for her.
Or she's just milking the situation and trying to get as much help and sympathy as she can.
