2008 PPP won a lots of seats from Punjab. Unfortunately it could not make the government there because of ethnic preferences. There after current leadership PML(N) continued to use mantra of jaag punjabi where popularity of PPP declined. A part from ethnic divide they exploited electricity and gas shortage attributed to former PPP government. After more than three years of their own government they could solve dick about these problems but still people gave them votes because of ethnicity mantra they have been using since decades. Under such circumstances even ZAB could have lost the elections in Punjab.
