Is drinking common in your community where you live? I have yet to see that as a requirement, most people just assume he/she doesn't.

There are families and communities (that one which starts with an A) where drinking is part of social setting.

Im not talking about my community in particular, I have been in uni for 5 years and see with my own eyes how many muslim boys and girls drink.

Im 23 (final year med) and my parents are looking for a boy for me who is similar to what you are looking for…educated, good khandan and doesnt drink and is moderately religious.

And yes its tough, very tough.

The thing is…I have been rejected because of my age for being too young!!

is every other pakistani guy alcoholic.

Rejection is a part and parcel of rishta process. We all love our children and believe that they are the best and rejection offcourse hits the parents more than the girl herself.

I'll be brutally honest with you. For you your daughter is the best and she has alot of talents but for a rishta seeker she is just a rishta and they will treat her like any other girl. I have been there and so have been most of my friends , kabhi kisi ki age zyada hoti hai , kabhi height choti hoti hai and the best excuse of all istakaha theek nahi aya. If you will wiling to go through this rishta process then be prepared for things like these and ignore them

The right age is somewhere between getting a good proposal to less than 28, 24 years is not an age for a professionally well-established to be rejected by some reasonable person…a girl cant finish her studies and find a good job at 16

But this should be done not later than 28, because as longer it takes, it becomes more and more difficult for a financially independent woman to mold herself after getting married. After all, gals have to be flexible because they are one the moving to a new place with new customs and responsibilities.

I think it is all depend on what boys family want, if they value her professional profile and her ability to support the family in rainy days they would not make fuss about it.

But a typical Pakistani family where the girl is expected to be house wife, they would ask for as young as possible.

The question here is of a professional girl, NOT what the guy and his family want....everybody knows the credentials of the girl before sending proposal and it is understood that a working lady would not be in her teens
