You need to read slowly.

The above news items I pasted are from Aug 20th, 2 days ago, announcing a public holiday in all constituencies. And from what i remember last, Islamabad was a part of Pakistan, so any reference to all by-election constituencies also refers to Islamabad!

The news you posted is from Aug 22, which is today, which proves my point. Time table for Islamabad was changed last night, which is why Asad Umar was protesting!

as far as i know, people were "requesting" for holiday in Islamabad till yesterday and no announcement was made till at least 8pm last night, after that they announced half day
