c'mon, only last week. In the thread Ali's speech at the death of Abu Bakr. We discussed the possible motives behind these hadiths. We disagreed with e/o though but i dont want a repeat here.

topic of Umar is a lengthy one. I have been doing continous 2 days of reading on him. Although he made administrative decisions that helped conquer land and amass capital, in the process, he shook the very foundations of the mission of Islam and ended up doing great amount of damage. Unfortunately this is not the right place to discuss this topic for apparent reasons. We can do it via PMs or may be on the Shiachat if you wish to discuss it further (i would be keen to discuss this with you).
