If you have dry skin with no acne issues…and the only thing you want to do is get an even tone/brighten up skin…then get 40% lactic acid peel. Do it 1x/week. In between the peels, use some type of oil (argan, rosehip, avacado whatever) so keep skin moisturized. Once your skin is to a point where you’re happy with it…you can decrease the peels to once every 2-3 weeks for maintenance.
Retin A is the only medically proven treatment to erase/prevent fine lines and wrinkles (also helps with acne). Over time this will also help to even out skin tone. It works by increasing cell turnover and can penetrate skin deeper than other topicals. This also helps other stuff (such as peels, AHA creams etc) penetrate deeper into the skin. On the other hand, it can dry out skin so moistuzers are very important.
But if anti-aging and acne isn’t your concern, plus if your skin is already dry, then weekly 40% lactic acid (LA) peels will achieve the results you want. But please make sure you also do it on your neck too. And of course, since all AHA’s make your skin extra sensitive to the sun…daily sunscreen use is very important.

One more question, since I want to prevent the fine line and wrinkles, can I use the Retin A as well? Also, would it be wise to use Alpha Hydrox AHA Souffle 12% Glycolic Souffle ( that you mentioned in an other thread)?
