Re: Respecting others Faith, What is it? and Why?
I think the most suitable i come up with is that, We should respect that faith which have as many beleivers that, "dis-respecting" it can cause an agitation
This basically says you are only feigning respect so as not to cause a commotion. That's not respect, that's tolerance and a tolerance only based on what is convenient to you. In this scenario satanists should be respected because there are hundreds of thousands of them throuhgout the world.
The number of adherents to a faith shouldn't matter.
IMO we should respect everyone's faith as long as it does not negatively affect others. If there is only one person in the world who holds a certain belief that has no officially sanctioned denomination, so be it. I have met many wonderful, spiritual, caring, giving, loving people who worship God in their own way that I respect much more than others I've met that follow a fundamentalist view of a religion followed by billions. I actually have found that the people I meet that I respect the most DON'T belong to some huge organized religion.
You don't have to believe in or praise somone's faith to respect it or them. It's more about respecting the person and their choices than respecting their belief system. Outside of common decency, it's imperative since NO ONE KNOWS exactly what the heck THE correct set of beliefs really is.
