Wind solar and hydropwer are expected to be increasingly important for electricity generation. Unreliability of wind and solar source in terms of variability across various time scales is a roadblock inspite of prices having come down.

Vayu Surya and Varuna are gods of wind sun and rain. This gives India a huge advantage in terms of harnessing the 3 energy sources.

India is surely missing a tidal wave energy god ?!?! approx 3 years back I was involved in the installation of Tidal wave plant in Northern Ireland (latest of the renewable energy technologies).
