Our recent history shows us that strong unified government only leads to abuse of power - Nawaz Sharif was abel to set up a government so strong that it was able to bulldoze and destroy all checks on its power, from free media through presidential power and judiciary.
Its quite simple and you are not unaware of these things eiter:
Democratic elected leaders themselves have no power to abuse as long as they are not backed by power sources like ISI/PA, which is utmost the case in Pakistan.
This is the very reason why Pakistani people are never happy to see democractic elected leaders, since Army has already proven them to fail as soon as they get elected.
I just wish this to change sooner or later.
