In rural areas it is still considered as same. double ghoRa bosky is still symbol of status. :) I remember when my Mamoo last year went for Hajj, he bought a thaan of bosky from there to distribute among his saahibaan.

When I was in uni, students used to wear it with shaan. Now in cities you dont see that much shalwar kamiz, even if you do witness it, its usually cotton.
