I doubt this. The people and area which mqm represent were never a vote bank of PPP. And MQM never gained any support from the voters of PPP.
You are right when it comes to voters... but it is really believed that the sole purpose of MQM's creation was to break the vote bank on ethinic (sindh) basis... The theory is further backed by the fact that MQM, from the day of its creation has taken PPP as it's rival... but again thats assumption can be proved wrong...
