cHEeGUm, that was supposed to be free advice for the wimps who are dainty enough to get food poisoning from food and water from the homeland they come from..

Rehree Wala Food?

Xtreme you ignorant idiot. It is not Rehree WALA food, it is Rehree WALI food. Only an Anglo-Indian from Bombay would call it Rehree WALA food. Now back to the topic.

There are certain delicacies that only Rehree can offer, e.g., Goul Gappay, Ladoo PithiaN walay, Kalaygee kabab, Bhuttha, Kheray with Chatnee, Fruit Chaat, Dahee Bhalay.

Street side specialties: Cholay, Shekh Kabab, all sorts of Dals.

Other than that, restaurants are a better choice. For example, I wouldn’t buy sweets (Jalabis, Barfee, etc.) from a Rehree. And Dahee Bhalay in a restaurant just wouldn’t taste the same as the ones from a Rehree.

The immune system argument is all a load of crap. No-one gets sick of eating food off Rehree. Some of the cooked food is cooked so much that it kills all kinds of bacteria. Just be careful about the water, and avoid drinking it off the Pot that has aluminum glass wired to it that everyone has to put inside the pot to fetch water. Bottled Soft drinks are a better choice, but I always follow the local way.

Xtreme, I always wanted to have my own Rehree Stand in Lahore selling adult magazines. I am sure it will improve literacy rates in Pakistan. My stand will also sell hotdogs (non-kosher of course).

Pristine, sorry to hear about your friend, but Kidney malfunction has nothing to do with where one eats. My uncle had his transplant (because of excessive alcohol usage) but some other people had other ailments causing the kidneys to fail. Diabetics have a lot higher risk even if they eat in Pearl Continental every day. So please don’t scare people.

rehree ka khana can be ok if you see the guy making it, if you're having a burger and he fries it infront of you etc you are probably getting a better deal then a second class restaraunt, its not as if they have hygiene inspectors coming around at least the rehree is infront of you and it must be cleaned as are the utensils used to cook.
