Just thinking... I have heard that some religions punish homosexuals with death. If that is not "HATE", I am wondering what would have happened if indeed there was "HATE".

Really? Lets see - the religion in question here is Christianity.

Here is what the Bible says:

1 Corinthians 6:9–10.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Basically classifies homosexuals with criminals. And I for one would be convinced not to let a criminal into my establishment of business. Why blame the believer, when scripture is so hateful and vile?

Time to get rid of this garbage.

Which Bible? When you quote bible we even dont know if the verse is Divine or some ancient evangelist’s effort to manipulate as per his own beliefs.

But Queer, the thing is that you are missing the whole point of it. The bill was passed by the mississipi governor not because he is very religious. Its just because its his own mentality of hatred and bigotry. Your argument is basically the same as others say that “Islamic state” is pure islamic and they are doing wutever becuz Islam said so. Are you kidding me? Just because their name is Islamic doesnt make them islamic. Similary a bill which is called “religious freedom” doesnt make it religous either.

If tomorrow I call myself David, it doesnt make me prophet.

Now let me give you another example. All these conservative christians are followers of pope, right or no? But look at the stand on refugees. Mostly GOP conservative governors etc hv vowed not to let any refugee enter in their state. Guess what, Mississippi is one of that. And look at what pope is saying or doing about refugees. He is polishing their shoes and showing the most humble respect. So why dont conservatives now follow Bible’s teaching about refugees?

The answer is very simple. They only use religion when they want to manipulate it for their own benefit.

Back to Pope and here is what he said about Gays:

Now take religion out of the equation, you think that they’ll change their behaviour and their hatred will be changed into love? Ya right! We can only dream on about it.

This "bigotry" or "racism" is based on religious beliefs, not based out of cave-men rules. You can call it hypocrisy or discrimination within sins. Just like we will watch all bollywood, hollywood movies with dance/music, we will cheat customers as businessmen, we will steal electricity with thousands of justifications, we backbite our friends/relatives, we cheat govt for tax.... BUT when someone insults/verbal-abuse our Prophet PBUH we will turn the world upside down. Same is true for any religion, few values/entities are far more sacred though the religion text-book may not have suggested/mandated that.
