And it’s pretty silly to expect a mature woman like Reema to choose a guy for his looks. She’s not a teenager. :smack:

Oh and there’s nothing wrong in marrying someone for their social status. He’s a respected man, not like that tondoo from Faislabad that Meera chose.

Does anybody know how this marriage was arranged ?
Why was a successful Pak-American cardiologist interested in a film actress ?
Was he a big fan of Reema ?
It is hard to believe that a busy cardiologist like him would have time to watch Reema in Pakistani movies or on TV.

Reema is in show biz since last 20 years and in that 20 years that busy Doctor must have visited his family in Karachi and might have tune in to Pakistani TV and may have attended a program concert in Pakistan/ USA, where he met her 'Sapno ki Rani'. Why so much investigation. Jinhe milna ho mil jate hain. Be happy for them and wish them a happy life.

People talking about her "background"

Tsk tsk. Leave it to desis to throw keechar everywhere they get a chance.

For sake of argument, let's say her background is questionable. She got on her own two feet, made her own living, developed a career with poor education and upbringing, and she tried to fix her deficiencies (learning English when she didn't know it, improving her dress style, etc), and she got herself a decent husband with a solid background.

So, if she was some sort of heera mandi type prostitute, she pulled herself out of it, and now has a reasonably normal life compared to before.

I say, bless her soul.

Given that a lot of girls with "questionable" backgrounds in Pakistan are kidnapped into it or forced into it as kids, I say she's got the cahoonay's to normalize her life with her own two hands given her circumstances. She's a good role model.

^ completely agreed! she also had all her sisters educated and married off. One of her sisters used to study with my sister in Kinnaird College in the mid ninties, back when it was one of the best undergrad institutes in pakistan (pre lums, pre lse etc).
She came from an underpreviliged and 'questionable' family, and took her start in a medicore and sleazy film industry to support her family. Whats commendable is how she used this background to uplift her whole family and make a respectable name for herself.
Those posting sexist and derogative comments here probably can't get over the fact that a low life from heera mundi made it so big in her life, while they have spent their entire lives as nobodys.....so ppl if it makes you feel any better about your own misearble lives, then by all means make fun of her, coz it really doesn't change the fact that she's a clear winner here.
