A lot of things could or should have happened, depending on whom you ask. Certainly a case can be made that nations like the Kurds should have a right of self-determination. But suggesting that the US or the international community is pursuing any agenda of “redrawing the Middle East” to serve its interests is mendacious and reeks of conspiracy theory.
