Re: Redrawing the Middle East
They key point is the how they get the support from people to accept these ideas. Pakistan has growing ethnic nationalism. It is hard to find a pro-Pakistani Baloch. Pashtuns will become the same. Sindhis are wondering what Pakistan means to them with the murder of Benazir.
Kurds want their own country. Shias in the Gulf are not happy. Redrawing borders is not impossible with or without the support of the people. Look at Pakistan a product of a partition - will it be the last?
The British could have made better choices when dividing the countries up. Kashmir should have gone to Pakistan. Khyber Pakhtukhwa should have gone to Afghanistan. The Kurds should have got their own country. etc etc etc
