Um, some random titles, can't say I particularly liked all of them though;
ils
The Innocents
Dark Water (original)
Audtition
The Host. More comedy than horror, but fun.
The evil dead trilogy - yes, more comedy. but dude, there are so few movies that provide this level of fun.
The Thing.
Haute Tension
Dead Snow
City of the living dead (Fulci)
Night of the Living Dead (Romero)
The Orphanage
The Fly
Alien
Kwaidan
Ichi the Killer - not scary just violent.
Dead of Night
Night of the Demon
I can suggest old creature features, b movies, or indeed z movies, if those are of interest. Will add more if I think of them, you seem to know your way around the genre pretty well already though.

Thanks for the recommendations. I have watched most of them though.
One that I didn't watch and just read about on IMDB is "Dead of Night". Seems to be really interesting from what I have read. So yeah, this is the next movie I'm going to watch.
Thanks again!
The Omen (1970s) version always creeps me out.....more so than The Exorcist.
Watched The Last Exorcism day before yesterday.....and it was creepy.....but I like The Omen better.
Skeleton Key deals with Louisiana voodoo and is sorta creepy as well.
Chucky........did manage to turn me off to dolls in general.
Thanks. Watched them all already also. The Exorcist is laughable. I don't know why some people still get so scared and creeped out by this movie.
Frailty. loved it.
This movie sure had potential, but totally ended up disappointing me. I actually felt insulted by the directors.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. Dead of Night is an important film in terms of the influence it has had on preceding films. I just hope you find it watchable, otherwise I'll feel guilty!
Hey you, I just watched this movie today and loved it. Thanks for recommending it to me. It didn’t scare or creep me out or anything, but it was a very good mystery/thriller nonetheless. Will buy it for my collection now.
Edit: Hmm actually Hugo, the ventriloquist doll was quite creepy…
May I recommend one to you too? I know that you prolly know it, but just in case that you don’t, you need to watch “Eyes without a face”.
These movies have already been mentioned in this thread.
for me, “the Ring”, watching it on the big screen with friends on either side so i couldn’t even escape to the outside world, I hate watching horror movies, they are like cockroaches for me. scare the crap out of me, can’t sleep for days after watching one. i was forced into watching it.
strangely serial killer movies like “friday the 13th” or ‘saw’, “silence of the lambs” don’t scare me much. the bad guys are all human. when it comes to the unseen is when i get chills down my spine. don’t know why
I didn't go through all the replies...but these are my favourite :
The Exorcist
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The Ring 1 & 2
The Grudge 1 & 2 after that it was silly
Dark Water
Shutter
Amity-ville Horror (awesome)
Case 39
The Orphan (not really horror but still good)
The Omen
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
No Vacancy (or was it Vacancy?)
Skeleton Key
Gothika (loved it)
The Others
The Haunting in Connecticut (something like the Amity-ville horror)
Mirrors
The Eye
One Missed Call
1408
The Hostel (I only watched the first one)
Silence of the Lambs (and the whole series that follows)
An American Haunting
Wrong Turn
American Psycho
What Lies Beneath
That is all I can remember....sorry if most of them have been mentioned b4.
Glad you liked it. Yeah, I usually find the whole creepy ventriloquist dummy thing a little naff but in this it works well.
Thanks for the recommendation, I recall reading something about it, but never seen it. Will put it at the head of the queue.
I heard that The Hostel was based on true events…I dnt know the whole truth abt it…but that really freaked me out…I made up my mind to not visit Eastern Europe after watching that!!!
There is another movie based on true events in Australia..something like the “Wrong Turn”…and the crazy part was that the guy who committed those murders didn’t get convicted coz there wasn’t enough evidence!!!
