Look, I am not one to hold back on our duffer politicians, but this had a big army / ISI hand in it. The politicians etc went along with it.
Pakistanis really have a lack of self respect which is a big part of the humiliation that Pakistan has faced over the years in the international arena. This is not something that you learn from you some red book by Mao but something that is innate to yourself. I think that we haven’t come out of the british humiliation of indian muslims after mughal rule and are stuck with worshiping gora aaqa.

The “victims” were not so innocent to begin with. What were they doing trying to rob him or threaten him with loaded gun? In US in such a situation, Davis would have gone free for self defense. If anything, instead of lamenting the role played by army/ISI/govt in his release, it is the flawed blood money law that should be debated that lets powerful and rich get away with murder legally in Pakistan. This law should be repealed. Also, the hypocritical behavior of army/ISI/govt to inflame public sentiment against US to blackmail and demand more money from US should be condemned.
