Actually, before partition there was a rather large British army headquartered there in that area. Their uniform ofcourse was red colored. “Red Coats” as they were called. Later on the name got translated into Lal Kurti by locals and became the name of the town.

there was this new shopping place a few yrs ago . can't recall the name. They have some good stuff. they mainly sell unstitched kapray

No hareem, my mom grew up in Pindi. My nunyaal is from pindi (migrated from Fatehpur india). My two khalas still live there although now they both moved to I-9 in islamabad

I,ve been to pindi several time and stayed there for long in that area when I was in Pakistan Atomic Energy Commision Institue, doing my Masters in Nuclear Physics

The facilty was only 4O KM from faizabaad area so we used to go to pindi over the weekends

Are you sure you are not talking bout Changa Manga? Because the Potohar Plateau in general is a rugged terrain, rocky and hilly and not that green.
