We do things quite similarly.

We don’t do any of the fried stuff either. Iftari is basically a date and tea, followed by the prayer and then dinner, which is a proper meal. In our culture, there are certain dishes people are more inclined to eat around during Ramazan, which are eaten as proper meals. Nothing terribly extravagant but a bit more substantial. I’ve never been keen on the fried, appetiser type snacks people talk about.

That’s interesting. Can you tell what kind of dishes you guys have during Ramzaan in afghan culture?
