As much as you slander this "backwards" mentality, the truth remains that the upper classes in all societies and regions still subscribe to this theory re: Prince william and common Kate? It is a way of determining what the core values of that family are, and then judging if they are compatible with yours. Sort of a "background synopsis". That is not to say that other castes are not equal in the eyes of God, it is simply an indicator. So far as "darkies" etc are concerned, my father is fair, green eyed with brown hair. My mother is slightly darker, but still very fair. I have evidently inherited the kalo genes. I am the darkest in the family, I look like my mums second cousin. My Aunt. Go figure.
I have friends from all over the world, and you can really really tell which ones are from the longer established families. They have a different upbringing and different set of priorities. That is not to say that anomolous apples dont appear - they do, but then no rule is hard or fast.

yeah estalished families or what nots sure, but not an entire tribe...there are hundreds of thousands of rajputs, surely not all of them are established.
also not all of them are xerox copies of one another, the initial post was not about established khandans but about why some rajputs look different than other rajputs and all.

In my lifetime I'd like to see a united Pakistan with all this ethnic differences put behind us. Its a punch in the gut when I read these sorts of threads; why the hell can't we WAKE UP and realize that our real enemies are on this board and take comfort in our disputes. They absolutely love it; they wanna see a divided Pakistan. Why are we giving them this satisfaction??!!
I don't care if one is rajput, jatt, pushtun, baluchi, persian, khwajah, sindhi, punjabi, or any other ethnicity; if you call yourself Pakistani, you have my respect.

i feel for moin. moin theres kaums and then theres famillies. its unlikely that our forefathers got married from the same kaum but unknown people. marriages usually only occured within wider famillies, ie somesort of related link and from not 'too' far away in distance. its possible a kaum is well interlinked but only within a limitted area. other areas means other famillies going by the same caste name. :)
