...Rain...

Re: …Rain…

You know where. When my car needs servicing or an oil change the land where pink carnations bloom is the place to go, because there is a princess whose hands have a magical touch and she does not mind getting hot and dirty.

Re: …Rain…

ahem. :queen: what car is it?

Re: ...Rain...

Volkswagon Passat.

Re: …Rain…

i’ve done a jetta once. i was shaking with fear the whoooole time cuz i thought i’d break something in the fancy car. :frowning:

apni camry zindabad. :hehe:

Re: ...Rain...

Jetta?? How old are you?:)

Mine is a turbo diesel injection, so at least you don't have to change the spark plugs.

Re: …Rain…

it wasnt mY jetta. it was my bhabi’s. :halo:i was 14 back then. and that was approximately 4 years ago. :stuck_out_tongue: do the math yourself. how’s diesel treating you?

Re: ...Rain...

I thought they stopped making jettas about 20 years ago.:)

I am into diesel nowadays. The performace is as good as petrol especially with VW, and I get a lot more MPG than petrol. Plus diesel engines are a lot more durable than petrol. They are simply built to last.

Re: ...Rain...

nope pal. it was a 2000. :)

Re: ...Rain...

whats ur mpg?!

Re: ...Rain...

how old was the car in 2000?

Re: ...Rain...

it was a 2000 model.

Re: ...Rain...

I do late 30's driving through central london to work and back. My average speed is about 10mph. I work about 10 miles away in another part of london and it takes me about an hour to get there.

Re: ...Rain...

maybe they kept making them in the U.S but I am sure they stopped making them in Europe a long time ago. I have to check that now.

Re: ...Rain...

my mpg on my 92 camry is 23. gas prices would kill me..but my abbu pays for it.

yea do check.

Re: ...Rain...

Just checked they stopped making it in Europe in 1991

Re: ...Rain...

wow. u know though - it wasnt a very stable car. always minor problems, which kept on coming up constantly. when did u get ur vW?

Re: ...Rain...

I bought my first Passat in 1999. I wanted to get something else but as soon as i saw the car I fell in love with it. It was love at first sight. I kept it for about 4 years. THe new Passat I bought only a few months ago.

I generally change my car once a year. I have driven a lot of cars but for some reason I love Passats. I had my previous Passat for 4 years and this Passat, I am planning to keep for a while as well. I think I would like to try a BMW next time. I think German cars are the best.

Re: …Rain…

you change cars every year?!?! why?

we had 2nd hand bmw for a while. never got to change its oil though. :bummer: my abbu didnt like it much so we gave it back for an echo.

german cars, yeah they’re pretty good. i’ve only had the joys of toyota so far. :stuck_out_tongue: once a corolla, and then a camry. seen a couple of passats on the road- i couldnt fall in love with it at first sight, but yeah, it looks agreeable.

do you do the maintenance yourself?

Re: ...Rain...

Probably built it at an American plant. America is not what it used to be:)

Re: …Rain…

Once I had my first Passat, other cars I have bought don’t come close. Your expectations are raised.

I am hopeless with anything technical. I have to take it to a garage, or if I am lucky my dad helps out or my younger brother:) they are more technical. I think I am more creative.
