Re: Quiz Time

Your question was wrong actually Wide Balls and no balls was introduced from the very beginning but from this match those w/no balls went in account of bowlers. Before this match those balls were counted in extras only.
:cobra:

Re: Quiz Time

sannan .. it was introduced late in ODI MATCHES !! :P

Re: Quiz Time

okay ... the longest match in history was??

Re: Quiz Time

Again you must write longest Test Match bcoz i can go for First Class match as well :hehe:

Anyway, The last ever timeless Test was the 5th Test between England and South Africa at Durban in 1939, which was abandoned as a draw after 9 days of play spread over 12 days because otherwise the England team would have missed the boat for home. This match had started on March 3. South Africa had set a target of 696 for England to win. By the time England had to leave to catch their boat home, on March 14, England had reached 654 for 5 (the highest ever fourth innings score in a Test match) so would have been the more likely winners if the match had continued. This is the longest Test cricket match on record.

Re: Quiz Time

Just see the First ODI match score card :sunnyboy: you can see wide and no balls :cb:
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64148.html

Once again I"m repeating and you can google it too

No-balls and wides were debited to bowlers’ analysis for the first time in an ODI from India and Pakistan ODI match at Jaipur on 02-10-1983. Before this match, no balls & wides were debited in extras.

Re: Quiz Time

Wow Sannan, Thanks for the share :)

Re: Quiz Time

They are still added to extras but now also to the bowlers analysis.

Re: Quiz Time

:smack: I was just clarifying the question that no balls and wide are in the game from very first one day cricket but the above rule was introduce later in 1983.
