Question Time - BNP Leader Nick Griffin

Yeah until he invokes Gaza or Salman Rushdie, then all the British Muslims rush to his side.

Sorry but as long as Muslims in the UK love a hack like Yvonne Ridley (who refuses to condemn Choudhary) they deserve whatever criticism they can get.

The show definitely provided exposure for nick griffin , the BNP have reported that 3000 ppl signed up to become member of the party after the show last night!!

Again you are showing your ignorance. A very tiny minority might support him but the overwhelming majority detest him. He is more popular with Sky news and BBC than with Muslims. Should tell you something. it is easy for people in their hatred towards Muslim to blame the whole community to satisfy their misguided hatred and ego.

Yeah well at least here in America we wouldn't tolerate such hateful elements in our society amongst Muslims.

Unfortunately, there's always a lot of extremists marching openly and chanting their desire of Islamic law, spurring normal Brits into the arms of fascists like Nick Griffin, while sponging off of benefits of hard working Britons. I can go on any Islamic forum based in the UK and see extremist views similar to Anjem's propagating there. It's bloody ridiculous how radicalized they have become.

I'd take what they say with a grain of salt.

Re: Question Time - BNP Leader Nick Griffin

…that tosser needs to only look at the Royal Family/ Monarchy of UK to see just how “diluted and colourful” it is…

The audience was predominantly leftist/liberal and had no representatives from the majority. Being mauled by Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems, Blacks, Asians and Homosexuals will do nothing to dent BNP's rise.

The programme will just look like a set-up to most potential supporters. To you and I he would look like a baboon who could not string a sentence together in reponse to any points but lets face it not everyone is intelligent enough to see through that.

The same media which condemns the BNP actually does everything it can to reinforce their views - the constant Islamaphobic stories and anti-immigration headlines are the real reason why people are supporting the BNP. Its the media which sensationalises the stories.

I like how Jack Straw was made to look a fool and a liar. This is the man who fuels hatred for Muslims with that article on Burqa's. Both the Lib Dems rep and Baroness Warsi were point-scoring. They were both after Jack it seemed.

It was sad that no-one actually properly counter-acted the fact that Griffin said that the Quran treats women as second class citizens.

Got to give him credit for metionning some good points about Islam ie the banking system and that he admits there has to be a truce with it.

He is only up there because the media makes it look like Britain is being swamped by "immigrants". It was annoying to see that African-caribbean ask what is being done to stop immigrants and that Asian guy worring about Eastern Europeans. Its ok for them to be here but stop everyone else?

In 15 years time, there will be a BNP PM in this county.

One in five would ‘consider’ voting BNP

Some 22 per cent of those questioned said they would “seriously consider” voting BNP in a local, European or general election following the appearance of the party’s leader, Nick Griffin, on BBC1’s Question Time.
Around two-thirds of those questioned by YouGov for the Daily Telegraph said they would not vote BNP “under any circumstances”, with the rest unsure.
However, 4 per cent said they would “definitely” consider backing the party, 3 per cent would “probably” consider it, and 15 per cent said they were “possible” BNP voters.
The total figure is more than three times the 6.2 per cent which the BNP secured in this June’s European Parliament ballot - its best ever showing in a national election - and suggests that there is substantial potential for Mr Griffin to extend his party’s reach. It vastly outstrips the party’s 0.7 per cent score in the 2005 general election.
More than half of those surveyed agreed with the BNP or thought the party “had a point” in wishing to “speak up for the interests of the indigenous, white British people… which successive governments have done far too little to protect”. This included 43 per cent who said that they had no sympathy for the BNP itself, though they shared some of its concerns.
YouGov questioned 1,314 adult voters across Britain online following the broadcast of Question Time.

Excellent comments.

It is more a reaction to the current bad economic conditions than the popularity of BNP. Your contention that there will be a BNP PM in 15 years is very far fetched because the overwhelming majority of British people are middle of the road sensible people and will not vote in an extremist party. These sort of parties always rise in popularity during tough times and in the bye elections. As I said earlier the general election next year will be when we will be able to judge how popular they are. Similar thing happened in the 70’s with the rise of national front, only to die a death later on.

Re: Question Time - BNP Leader Nick Griffin

^ I absolutely agree with that. It's the lesser of the evils. On QT this is what they were discussing.

And thejoke, I wanted to hear the Baroness shed some light on what Nick was saying about Islam too. And to say it's written in the Quran too, yes Nick, we know how excellent your arabic is (!)
